Ohio still has to count absentees--sometimes heavily Democratic leaning, then forcing a run-off.
Sorry to ruin your victory party -- but those outstanding ballots are NOT absentees. There are 3300 provisionals ballots issued AT THE POLLS to folks who were not registered. That is a stinky mess right there. Because the high number of provisionals indicates something very wrong with their registration process OR people ATTEMPTING to vote who will be disqualified.
At any rate, O"connor (or whatever) would have to 2500 of those 3300 to make up the official deficit of 0.9 pts. Maybe your media morons aren't explaining it as well as I have here.
3300 is 1.5% of the TOTAL VOTES cast. He has a 0.9% deficit. So he NEEDS 2000 votes PLUS 1/2 of the remaining 1300 to win.
And MOST of those "provisionals" will probably be tossed. Unless there is same day registration in Ohio. In which case about 1/3 to 1/2 of them will be disqualified.
