Consumer spending decreases during actual bad economic times.We still need to consume, but people have to buy on credit or limit their consumption now because of runaway prices. You can't convince a mother of 3 that her paycheck is stretching farther now than it was when Trump was in office. Under that economic plan people even had savings accounts. All of the key economic indicators are strong. That means the economy is strong. What you pay at any given store is irrelevant to that fact.

I’m not an expert by any measure but have been trained in reading and understanding how and why it is measured the way it is and what the changes can potentially mean. That is the system by which we evaluate the state of the economic health in this country.and of course you are the expert right?....you sound like typical dipshit.....

I agree that prices at the grocery store are ridiculous for some items but that is more of indication that grocery chains are taking advantage than that the overall economy is weak.
