First of all, Karl Marx was a German and had nothing at all to do with Russia.
Second is that Karl Marx believed in democratic republics, and you can't really do communism any other way.
Third is that communism in no way implies seizing the means of production, but instead simply means you share costs of building public alternative means of production.

I saw Michael Malice discussing this yesterday on some podcast. He now lives in Austin, but he lived in NYC for 30 years. He went back to visit and he said it is nearly unrecognizable.
