Merry Christmas to all those that bought an electric vehicle. Perhaps you can turn it into a planter.

It applies to NEW sales.
You can keep your car, and you can still buy a Used Vehicle.

Oh, is that where power is out during the storm? So you could not recharge your EV? I did not get it. But as previously mentioned, gas pump dont work without electricity either. I am seriously looking at trading in my Prius for an EV,

Having several options with energy can and makes a difference. Simple things like living in an area with different feeds of electricity to apartments, homes and businesses is maddening. Some people can electricity restored within a few hours while others across the street can wait for days and weeks. And we are going to all electricity while eliminating all other options like natural gas, propane, kerosene, coal, and others. We are screwed.

.

Don't get ahead of the ground game.

We currently use 300 million plus gallons of gasoline, and 161 million plus gallons of aviation fuel a day ... That's not even counting diesel.
Electricity cannot replace that under anything that slightly resembles our current conditions even when using their most ambitious projections.

The politicians gripe and complain about everything ... The people fuss and fight with each other about everything ...
And the companies just drilled 5 new natural gas and/or oil wells within 3 miles of my house within the last month.

The greatest market increases in 2022 were in the Energy Sector and driven by fossil fuels ... Up 63%.

Some of the EV advocates are too lazy to follow your link so I've copied the major point... see following:
After a string of hurricanes swept through the south of Florida in 2004 and 2005, lawmakers passed a bill requiring that any fill stations on evacuation routes install transfer switches, allowing them to switch over to generator power in the case of an emergency.

Oil companies with over 10 stations in one county—like Exxon Mobil and Shell—
need to have portable generators available within 24 hours.
Smaller gas station chains are exempt from that rule, but some still have transfer switches installed or generators on hand.
