Ok, if you want to tax churches, then I guess we need to start taxing every not for profit organization.

And disclose who they are giving $$$ to.
Just to see if their 501c is aligning with their intended purpose when they filed for the exemption.
If it does then, they should qualify for a "non profit" type exemption.

We had religious fanatics in our neighborhood years ago that allowed their children to die rather than get them vaccinated. I'm mixed on the issue but not getting vaccinated is plain stupid.
