uh, no, actually after that last update, it was Ropey who revealed to me that gifs are now allowed as avatars, and can thus be displayed.

Then petro had one for a few days.

I only needed to refresh my preferred avi page, as it had always been a gif. We have just not had the option to display them.

Now we do. I can't say I care much either way TBH.

Does anyone else's do a white flash when it restarts? It only happens in the tiny boxes, like next to your name, or when you've posted in a thread.

I can see where that "could" happen but Mr. Beale's avie has always held a special appeal to me, for what it's worth. It flickers light and warmth. It conveys to me a "good guy" impression.

Your's is so cute. Brings that aww factor. But now that I have seen a few, I agree they are too distracting for my taste anyway. Still, Mr. Beale's is very touching so he stays. LOL
