Germany's Scholz loses a confidence vote, triggering new elections

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has lost a vote of confidence in the German parliament. It is the outcome Scholz had hoped for when he called for the confidence vote last week, analysts say. His aim: to lose this vote now, win fresh elections and come back stronger next time.

"Politics is not a game," Scholz told members of the parliament, the Bundestag, ahead of Monday's vote. As a result of the confidence motion's defeat, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will dissolve the parliament and call for new elections in late February.

In the Bundestag, 394 members voted no, 207 voted yes and 116 abstained. For the vote of confidence to have been successful, it would have required 367 yes votes.

I hope the German Volk use this opportunity to move to the right and stop mass migration and deport unneeded migrants.

Truthfully I was surprised when they embraced the Labour Party, fully infiltrated by the MSS I'm sure.

After the years of Merkel which harmed Europe so badly, I was surprised.

This Labour is not the Labour Party of old. They’re all champagne socialists, virtue signallers, and climate change fraudsters.

I’d like to see that happen in Britain, though l don’t know if there is a mechanism in our system to enable it.

Hopefully they do. I hear your PM might resign.
(long, sorry. It is relatively short for the speed of my fingers and brain, a curse and a gift I suppose)

It's possible. I think they believe that it might be a Hail Mary to try and make a difference with Trump if we have new leadership, Canada is basically throwing stuff at the wall now.

I said my part to multiple administrations because I know American government officials are far wiser and concerned about every detail in allied nations and enemies alike. Canadian police and our arrogant political leaders just said "who are you"?

Indeed...

I was very transparent with my Canadian politicians at all levels. I am an open book and as honest as G-d will allow.
If only they knew (and I presume CSIS probably knows somehow) just how many details I provided about the abuses into my life. I thought I was Mensch by advising them of the risks we were taking by destroying citizens and our relationship with America.

There is a real abuse of power by the police here as they are arrogant enough to not think it matters but it guarantees the loss of innovators, entrepreneurs and economic might. Just pulling a con job on a few dumb cops in the U.S wasn't ever going to help Canada. We have lost the majority of our intelligent workers for the Stasi and their obedient government workers at all levels who tell them to jump and they ask "how high"?

If Trump openly said "that Premier of Ontario is really nasty with threatening to withhold energy to us after we have funded his province for decades, thus, I need to go forward with the tariffs after so much abuse", Ford would lose the next election here in a landslide. I mean that sincerely. A landslide.

We have been in sharp decline at least since the Harper years, but really well before then. I warned my fellow MBA colleagues that I thought it was a mistake to cheer the loss of U.S industries to China as I suspected it would really create a dangerous situation for us economically in the long run, and, of course it is morally repugnant to fund a communist nation I supported free markets but would hold my nose whenever I shopped at Wal Mart.

Our own professors and entire MBA program were basically promoting the concept, "become an executive, off shore to China as much as you can and prosper. Move some papers along the way for easy money on Bay Street (your Wall Street)". I KNEW this would destroy our middle class.

Worse still due to our inability to envision the future, we should have been convincing the U.S of this potential outcome as best we could post-Soviet Union instead of accepting that the "End of History" was now upon us after the Berlin Wall fell. We because increasingly obtuse and erroneously void of the lessons of history instead of cozying up to America and leveraging our relationship, embracing civil liberties and accountability, we doubled down on the Police State in Ontario.

Canadian experts just wanted easy money through arbitrage and cheap goods. Many of these cheap goods we shipped in from China and exported to America under false pretenses for easy "middle man profits".

America knows far better than Canadian officials think as it pertains to police controlling Human Resources in corporations in Canada. Interfering in the potential of U.S companies on Canadian soil. I guarantee it...

AfD's Weidel criticizes SPD, Greens and CDU

The head of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Alice Weidel, criticized Scholz's government for the state of the German economy.
"Your government was in power for just three years. Germans will have to deal with the damage that you caused in this time," she said during the debate in the Bundestag.
Weidel, who is running to become chancellor in next year's election, said that the economy had suffered due to "massive lacking investment" in the car industry while "the chemical industry is fleeing" due to "exploding energy costs."
She also had words for the Greens Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck and the CDU's chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz.
Weidel accused Habeck of ruining the country and said that Merz would send Taurus missiles to Ukraine. Whoever votes for Merz "is voting for war," the far-right lawmaker said.
She also demanded that refugees from the war in Syria be sent home immediately, despite the continued uncertainty in the Middle Eastern country.

Oh don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll ban the AfD party. You know, to “protect democracy”. 😂

LOL, it’s now “far right” to not want to get involved in a dumb war.

I agree. Globalist greed is wrecking the West.

The truth — and, as Finance Minister, Lindner knows this — is that German decline is primarily due to an ideologically driven, rather than reality-based, economic policy.

This is nothing new. Commentators and analysts have long drawn attention to the pitfalls of shutting down nuclear power plants, banning the internal combustion engine and believing that wind and solar can replace fossil fuels. That’s before we get to bureaucratic monstrosities such as the “Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism”, or supply chain regulations that force small and medium enterprises to dedicate more and more of their resources towards administrative work and away from their actual core businesses.

Will England and France follow? ...

France got a new government some days ago because the extreme left wing idiots and the extreme right wing idiots worked together in trying to create chaos in France. Both failed thanks of Mr. president Emmanuel Macron.
