TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Chinese leader Xi Jinping (習近平) asked World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to suppress news about the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the German intelligence agency BND found, according to a report by German magazine Der Spiegel.

During a conversation on Jan. 21, Xi reportedly asked Tedros not to announce that the virus could be transmitted between humans and to delay any declaration of a coronavirus pandemic.

It took until the end of January before the WHO declared the coronavirus outbreak needed to receive international attention.

Spiegel reported that German authorities also targeted China with criticism, citing "BND information" that Beijing pressured the World Health Organization to delay issuing a global warning after the initial outbreak in Wuhan.

"In a January 21 telephone call, Chinese President Xi Jinping asked WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to hold back information about person-to-person transmission and delay a pandemic warning," the news weekly wrote on its website.

"According to the BND's assessment, China's information policy cost four to six weeks of time to fight the virus worldwide," Spiegel added.

Well, WHO screwed itself; even those defending the corrupt front won't stand up and replace its funding; Red China only coughed up $43 million, toward making up for the U.S. cuts of $300 million, and even Germany isn't helping out either. Good riddance; nobody needs 'scientists' who base their 'data' on political friendships.
