German government TV ZDF created an AI video showing a mother detained by ICE in front of her children and uses it as tear-jerker in order to manipulate the German public opinion on Trump and his immigration policy.
The video is watermarked with the Logo of OpenAI´s Sora AI video tool.
In the same broadcast the network warned of the dangers of false information created using AI. What an irony.
"For an anti-ICE report, ZDF used a clip in its Sunday news program "Heute Journal" that purported to depict the deportation of parents in front of their children. However, the video is AI-generated. Hayali had even warned in her introduction about the possibility of fake images."

Für einen Anti-ICE-Beitrag nutzte das ZDF im Heute Journal am Sonntag einen Clip, der eine Abschiebung von Eltern vor den Augen ihrer Kinder darstellen sollte. Doch das Video ist KI-generiert. Dabei warnte Hayali noch in der Anmoderation vor gefälschten Bildern.
