Georgia school shooting live updates: Suspect's father arrested on charges including involuntary manslaughter

So it is just a coincidence that these kids all choose to go on a killing spree AT SCHOOL.

I saw the dad on TV. He seemed reasonably normal and sane to me.
They know that usually to inflict the most pain on a person to go after the thing(s) that they love most. And for most people that's 1) their children and 2) and/or other family members.

You speak of a rational adult decision, but these are just children in a highly irrational state of mind. I doubt they really think that far ahead. They are striking out at the things most causing them pain in life, wanting to exact revenge, before they end their own life as well.

Its probably more a function of their tormentor being there. The Melendez brothers were tormented by their dad--they shot him at home. Its not rocket science.

In Paris, Texas, you get tormented, you go home and get your gun and kill someone at school.

In Paris France, you get tormented, you go home and stew about it and things get better eventually.

The 2nd Amendment is the problem.
Is that why terrorists in France can get ak 47s and shoot up places or rent trucks and kill people with them?

The goal is to disarm the public, if it affects crime that is a byproduct. That's why the emotion is ginned up in the newscasts, ignoring the out of control youth. Ignoring signs of mental issues and giving his son access to guns even though he knew his son had made threats against the school in the past doesn't seem normal or sane to me.

I agree

But the authorities should have taken the boy into custody before he killed people

You would be surprised how hard that would be. Most states don't allow people to be arrested simply because they COULD or MIGHT commit a crime.
Nor can they force a family to get mental health treatment for their children in most cases.

The laws in most states have it do the authorities can't act until something happens.

Same issue we had with Sandy Hook. The guy was clearly mentally ill but his worthless parents refused to get him help and gave him access to weapons.

I dont care how hard it was

The FBI and local police have an obligation to protect the public from threats they know about

So your answer is what?

The FBI and local police have an obligation to protect the public from threats they know about
Courts have repeatedly ruled that police have no inherit responsibility to protect the public. Though they usually act to do this, their responsibility is to enforce laws and maintain order. no matter what the decal on the cruiser doors say. The FBI is another story altogether, and their allegiance is constantly shape shifting. You are the front line for protection. Then dont bother me with lib demands to confiscate guns

Making threats of mass murder is an actionable offense even though libs here pretend otherwise

Would I love to see some responsible fair actionable action by police trained to do this while still respecting civil rights? Absolutely. Do I trust them to do this without some political slant? Not so much.

I'll wait to get the facts first before I jump to any conclusions.

But my first thought is yet again: Just WTF goes on in public schools these days to make kids want to become mass murderers against their teachers and fellow students?

I think that is a far bigger and better question than the father.
Leftist retardism is what goes on.
