I see this all over social media: adult children going "no contact" with parents.
This might seem like a good idea, especially if the parent(s) were blatantly abusive. The problem is, if you're a Christian, going "no contact" is unbiblical. In fact, "Honor thy father and mother" is in the 10 commandments. (Exodus 10:12). There is not an asterisk that says "Unless they were jerks, than forget it".
To be clear, I don't think "honor" means parents are entitled to unrestricted access to your life. It doesn't mean you continue to allow them to abuse you, your spouse, and your children. But I can think of almost no case where a Christian would go "no contact" with a parent.
(Because this place is what it is: yes, I have two adult children, and no, neither one has gone low or no contact with us. We are close with both of them, in fact.)
