There's a huge difference between token support and meaningful support.
And Trump wants NATO members to stop pretending to support Ukraine and really do it for a change by actually funding their own militaries BEFORE they get attacked and not afterwards.
That's the crux of the whole problem.

Yes, America is wealthy and its support is substantial. But that doesn't give license to NATO members to almost completely stop all military spending and rely upon the US to completely fund the European military defenses.

Because the Bear is coming.

Poland is doing better than most. But Germany is practically doing nothing and has been doing nothing to fund their own military for decades. Same with France, Dutch, Austria, Greece, Italy, Spain and many others.

The Free ride is OVER.

The US can not afford to completely fund the Ukranian/Russian war because War is stupid expensive. Every missile is like throwing a luxury sports car at your enemy. Every howitzer shell is a regular car thrown at the enemy. Each Tank or APC is $5 million dollars. I could retire VERY comfortably on one million anywhere in the world including Dubai.

40% of Russia's economy is going towards the war in Ukraine. It cannot continue for long or else they will be like Cuba. (All electricity in Cuba (except for the US military base) is gone)

Correct....NATO Nations, by agreement, must spend 3% of their annual budgets on Military Defense...but most do good to spend 1%. Germany says they can finally build to 2% from their 1.5% by 2040. Which is total BullShit. Meanwhile the Germans were becoming totally energy dependent upon Russia alone for their energy needs. But NATO is a pact against Russian aggression. So on one hand they are funding Russia but then not keeping their agreement with those fighting against Russia or themselves by not having a military whatsoever....relying upon the USA to be the entirety of their military defense.

So....
That's the problem. While everyone looks to America....our finances are too tight to be that generous anymore and NATO itself needs to step up and do something. We can't afford to do our part AND all of NATO's part as well. (Which is what they are expecting us to do)
