He was quite funny, but I think he went overboard with his watermelon schtick. I saw him in concert, but had seats far away from the various projectiles he sent flying into the audience.

He is incredibly unfunny. He had as gimmick in the 80's, but you can only see a smashed watermelon so many times before it becomes unfunny.

This is what happens when Gallager gets in a room with actually funny people. Spoiler, it goes terribly for him.

Yep. Looked it up. Last year about this time at age 76. I didn't know he was that old or that dead.
