As you all know, the House ethics committee voted to release their report on Matt Gaetz.

Gaetz is not taking it lying down. If the dirt on him is going to be public, he's going to do his best to expose the dirt on his former fellow members of Congress, including going so far to assume office in January since he was re-relected before he resigned.

He will use the powers of the office to file a resolution make public “each settlement of a complaint filed against the office of a Member of the House under the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995 that provides for the payment of funds which was approved by the chair and ranking minority member of the Committee during any Congress.”

Yes, folks, there is a taxpayer-funded congressional slush fund used to pay off the accusers of members of Congress of sexual impropriety

Gaetz then promises to re-resign upon passage of his resolution.

Anyone want to guess the odds of the members of the House voting in favor of releasing a report of their sexual misconduct?

And you thought the drama the first time the Republicans had a majority was something. This raises it to a whole new level.

Good times are a-comin'!

Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has always been Gaetz's butt buddy, has signed onto the cause, so even if Gaetz fails to assume office again, she's the backup plan.

I hope Gaetz succeeds.

I hate that fucker, but I hope he succeeds.

Think about it. You're a member of the House, and if you grab a woman's pussy, the money paid to her to shut her up won't even come out of your own pocket! It's paid for by John Q. Public.

And it will be buried.

Talk about a moral hazard!!! :mad-61::mad-61::mad-61::mad-61::mad-61:

I doubt he does anything but I've been hoping for a long time that something like this would actually happen.

Why the people don't demand that all of this stuff doesn't get released is beyond me anyway.

We pay for it, it should be public information.

Why should ethical violations of our representatives be hidden from the public?

And when none of that happens, what you gonna say then? Nothing that's what...You'll just hope that this sort of bullshit is forgotten by posters in here....Terrible

Gaetz is a shiny distraction. 😆

The problem is Gaetz had to resign from both sessions, in order for the ethics committee to lose jurisdiction, and thus not release the report.

And the governor has already scheduled a special election to fill Matt Gaetz's 2024 house seat.

They set their own rules
They are above the law
Yes, and that's not how it's supposed to be and it wasn't like that for over 200 years, so..
that needs to revert to how it was.
They did that in Reagan's 2nd Congress. Actually they started under Carter.
They got the 2/3 and voted themselves the keys to the country.
Legal bribery, corporate funds rolling in to get Congress to vote their way.
I don't see them voting to fix that. You couldn't shame them into turning down that kind of money.
It will take Article V. Trump will do some things to fix whatever he can, but really that will have
to be on the states and the people. Term limits and outlaw lobbying.

Gaetz was bait to draw out all the corrupt fuckers, and it worked like a charm!
There is always a post rational reason for all the bonehead mistakes Trump makes.

Do you have an explanation for wanting the US to capture the Panama Canal?

Why are you trying to derail the thread, turdbol?
