You're assuming that's what the money was for.
There is a national SEX culture that is alive and well...it is participated in by single and married people alike ... Traveling is often involved.
If you're inviting someone to participate then helping them with their travel expenses is more of a courtesy than a business transaction.
I am assuming that these women did not send a legal form ahead of them specifying how much per hour they would be charging for penetration.
