The George W. Bush Presidential Center is selling an ornament that features 43’s own painting of a cardinal perched on a branch.

Bush painted the bird as a gift for former Ambassador Warren Tichenor, and his wife decided it looked Christmas-y.

“Laura liked the bright red on the cardinal and the green of the foliage and chose my painting, for which I am grateful, for the Christmas card and the ornament,” the former president says in a video posted online. “I’m flattered. I hope my painting meets expectations.”

Earlier this week, Bush chatted about his painting hobby on “The Tonight Show.”

I would love to see some of his other paintings.

Will do a Google Search.

Some pretty good stuff.

Doubt he'd make a living at it but if he sells them for veteran's charities like he has, they will hopefully draw very high bids.

A couple of other great artistes usually remembered for other things:

Winston Churchill

Adolph Hitler

Ponder that.

Winston Churchill was also the author of some truly amazing books to include The History of the English Speaking Peoples. Recommended reading to understand where we came from and how we got here.

I bought three of the ornaments, keeping one and giving the other two to my brothers.

My dad was one for finding different type of gifts and would give one to each of us "kids" and since this is the first Christmas without him or my mom, when I saw these I thought "hey, I'll do a shout-out-to-dad gift".

It is nice to see Dubya has discovered Paint By Numbers.
