The proper construction of a BLT is not Bread - Tomato - Bacon- Lettuce-Bread

It's

Bread (with Mayo) - Tomato - Lettuce - Bacon - Bread (no Mayo)


The lettuce acts as a barrier between the mayo and juices from the tomato to the bacon stays crispy. That's why it's a "BLT" not a "BTL".
