The National Hurricane Center (NHC) identified a tropical development off the southeastern coast of the United States on Monday, just the second day of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

The NHC said it expects the low-pressure system to form within the next two to three days and move northeastward at 10 to 15 mph, though it has a low chance of developing any subtropical or tropical characteristics.

The disturbance could form into a small depression, but it is unlikely to become a tropical storm, according to the Orlando-based FOX 35 Storm Team.

This is just another example of hyped non-event....It's just a springtime coastal storm, not likely to even have any tropical characteristics.

The NHC says just a 10% chance of development.

But gotta keep those climate change fears going.

If you're not hiding under your bed with hand sanitizer and a face mask, the news isn't do it's job.

This is the main reason I wouldn't want to live in Florida.

Must be local news.

Usually Sahara Dust inhibits storms. Looked it up, thats likely a nonevent. Having said that I was at work in Houston once and while I was a working a mild storm in the morning turned into a mild hurricane by afternoon bus time. Got drenched and wind blew crap at us while waiting for the bus.

A surface trough extends over the NW waters off northern Florida,
with a second trough from 30N51W to 20N60W. High pressure
dominates the remainder of the tropical and subtropical waters N
of 20N. Light to gentle winds, and seas of 3-5 ft, prevail N of
22N and W of 50W. Gentle to moderate winds, and seas of 4-6 ft,
are elsewhere N of 20N. S of 20N, moderate to fresh winds are W pf
40W, with gentle winds E of 40W. Seas S of 20N are in the 4-6 ft
range.

Probably a good time to start evacuating Houston ... again ...

question: Aren't you one of those guys who carries a gun to the grocery store?

I carry everywhere.....So?

Lots of shootings at grocery stores.....Remember the Tops grocery store shooting. Had one person been armed he might not have killed those 10 people.

Maybe you were thinking strapped.

I carry everywhere.....So?
So it bothers some people that you are exercising your 2nd amendment rights. They piss all over themselves because of a 0.003% gun violence rate. They think that peaceful law abiding citizens should have their 2nd amendment rights taken away because of the bad acts of a very tiny number of bad actors.
