When you are a police officer and given a warrant, you go do your job. Period. The street cops aren't the ones in the judges chambers where he/she makes the decision to agree to sign a warrant. They are the troops. If any warrant turns out to have been illegal, that's between those that pushed for it and the District Attorney's office. As for the Breonna Taylor situation, she was known to have resided with a drug dealer and they suspected that her residence was still a location for stashing the drugs.
At the time of the warrant, the information they had was outdated and should have been more thoroughly examined. But as the old saying goes, "hindsight is 20-20."
I served a career in the military and when orders come down, you carry them out, unless you know the order to be blatantly illegal in the first place. The My Lai massacre in Vietnam is a good example: A helicopter gunman, stopped the American forces from completely decimating unarmed Vietnamese villagers, by threatening to kill the Americans that were just wantonly killing civilians. He is considered a hero for his defiant actions. On the other hand, as I said, cops only see the warrant and have to act on them, otherwise, if cops could just, on a whim, pick and choose which warrants to act on, you really wouldn't have an effective force, but anarchy within the force.
