For the record, Trump's "university" was one of a dozen or more similar programs at the time in which people were induced to pay a stiff tuition in order to learn the ins&outs of real estate investment.
The sad fact is that those classes - Trump's and the others - were generally TRUTHFUL and VALUABLE (including Trump's), but with one catch: It wasn't easy to get rich in real estate. They explained how to do it, and it involved doing a lot of research on property, financing, zoning, contracting, trends in values, and so on. Then there was a lot of WORK in actually making the investments work for you. People went to the sessions expecting a "get rich quick" program where they could sit on their asses, make a few phone calls, and the money would start rolling in.
Invariably, the people who did what the courses told you to do made money and were well satisfied. It was the lazy bastards who didn't have the ambition or the balls to carry through who sued.
And of course the Media - lazy bastards themselves - focuses on the ones who "felt cheated."
