This means, if it will be seen as a success, it will be overwhelmingly approved.

....[there is] major disagreements between the different polls.

Why do I say that?
Take a look here.

Okay, this is the net approval rating. That's the approval rating minus the disapproval rating. And this is the net approval rating for US military action in Iran. Look at this. CNN, our own CNN poll shows that the net approval rating is minus 18 points.
Very similar to the Ipsos polling at -6 points. But then all of a sudden, you see the NBC News polling and look at this. You see it at - 11 points, getting a little bit more popular.

And then you look at the latest Fox News poll and that's a split, a dead even split at zero points.

So yes, on average the polling is showing that the move is unpopular, but that actually hides major disagreements between the polling. And I should note the polling questions pretty similar and all conducted at about the same time.

So I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but there's another reason why, John, you should take these initial numbers with a grain of salt because I want to go back to the June air strikes, right? net approval rating US military action in Iran after the June air strikes. Initially in late June, look at this underwater at minus eight points.

But by July, look at that. After the military option was deemed successful, it became much more popular. Now, we're just going to have to wait and see with this current military action in Iran how exactly the polling shifts. But right now, I would really take the numbers with a grain of salt, keeping in mind that there's big polling disagreement and the numbers may change down the road.

Iran is not simple situation.

Military action is ongoing, and the outcome is not determined yet.

Will the radical mullahs keep control, or will a new regime be installed?

Anti-Trumpers are easy to poll, but others see a much more complex situation.

The spike in oil prices may determine what happens next, the mid-terms hang in the balance.

FOXNEWS is spinning out of control for their master.

But it won't work.

Just stand back and stand by.

Far too early to know and polling makes no sense at this juncture (the methodology matters also). Politically, this is not a winner for the GOP, worse when guys like Graham are on Fox suggesting expansion of war, he almost seems to be intentionally hurting Trump to ensure the Neo cons return to power................................................................................CNN loves war, it is great for their ratings and advertisers so always consider that when interpreting intent (just as they said Trump was extremely unpopular a month ago). Russia and China will be providing intel in an effort to try and maintain their implanted government so this is more precarious now. The Chinese government are giddy to have Trump visit in a month as it provides validity to their policies. The same policies funding the war in Ukraine and who propped up Iran for 25 years, allowed them to expand their terrorism funding in the M.E. Theh smile to your face, but.....................................................................................The Iranian government, which looks awfully communist in their structure (meet, pick a new dictator) just made the son of the long held despot ruler the new leader for life. Clearly the objective of U.S and Israel was not to have a carbon copy leader, only younger, replace the Ayatollah, thus, this raises the stakes............................................................................ Pray for peace and for America and Israel to succeed but unless these polls were taken of the Boomer generation, war is not popular and success is not going to be easy. More important than that, it cannot be a lengthy war citizens are already struggling.

So, according to polling, this war is massively unpopular (even before the flag-draped boxes start coming home).

Usually, wars are very popular when they start. Bush had a 70% approval rating when he invaded Iraq in 2003. By 2004, he was barely hanging on by his fingernails, and by 2006, the population was damned angry about the thing.

I doubt this thing will drag on for years, mostly because Trump didn't prepare for a long war. So this war will probably go on until the Ford and the Lincoln run out of bombs to drop. Then Trump will declare victory and quietly end it

Any feeling that you're safer today than you were last Sunday is probably tied to your BAL.

If anything, you're in more danger today than last Sunday.

Very short-sighted thinking.

What will you say if Iran ends up with a more moderate government and Saudi Arabia ends up recognizing Israel as a state? Would that be a victory? Granted, that is no guarantee unless Israel agrees to a Palestinian state, but if it did happen, it would be a HUGE change ME relations.

What would I say if martians landed and said they had a cure for cancer? Cool. Equally likely.

In the real world, the regime is not going to be kicked out via bombing. They never are.

Sounds like they’re fantasizing about a huge victory for Israel.

If we do not, we are already there so remove all of their infrastructure you can.

Israel actually has a much better handle on their actual war aims. Slam the nuke attempts, slam the missiles, slam the drones. They are Hezbullah bombing the Iranians.

The Trump Admin also destroyed the navy. All the dementia talk about a new regime is just dementia talk.

I didn’t say it would only be bombing. Special Ops could have something to say about all of this.

Regardless, even if there was another anti-Israel/US, oppressive regime, they will be massively set back. If we don’t have another Democrat hand them billions in cash, their ability to fund terrorism and their military will be severly hampered. That is a win. It may also lead to Saudi Arabia being more open to recognizing Israeli, provided the Palestinian situation can be resolved.

Yeah, we would like to see the US/Israel coalition have a victory. Only Democrats seem to be opposed.

Just saying, you want us fighting a war on Israel’s behalf.

Good for Israel. Doesn't help the US at all.

But thats not happening. The current regime is remaining. How does this help joe Schmo in Mississippi? Gas prices are up and Americans are dying now. We are spending a $1BN a day.
