yes, and it was ACTUAL NEWS on a political campaign that was going to break and I'll be damned here it is.
SNIP:
A national voter integrity organization is suing Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and the state Republican Party for alleged violations of the Voting Rights Act.
In a lawsuit filed Tuesday, True the Vote says its volunteers were denied access to voting records from counties and that the state Republican Party refused to delay certification of the results until all records were reviewed.
The group is asking a federal judge for an injunction against Hosemann and the GOP so that True the Vote may review all records related to the Republican Party primary runoff for U.S. Senate between incumbent Thad Cochran and challenger Chris McDaniel.
True The Vote and the additional 13 Mississippi plaintiffs are all McDaniel supporters. Cochran won the runoff after trailing the primary vote. McDaniel's campaign has indicated they will contest the election if it is certified next week as expected.
In its lawsuit, True the Vote alleges the following:
•Access to voting records in Hinds and Rankin counties were denied.
•Plaintiffs who requested access to voting records encountered "other, unlawful obstacles" despite not being "wholly denied access." These obstacles were not outlined in the filing.
•Plaintiffs incurred the cost of redacting records that were requested.
•Voting irregularities are present, including "duplicate, missing and/or written entries in the voter rolls indicating that voters who had voted in Mississippi's Democratic Primary later voted in the Republican Primary Run-Off."
