Yep, I have one myself.I love my Chinese Type 56 “ Spiker “ AK ( it’s my dead ender weapon of choice over all of my other firearms )
Friend ( Matt From My Guns in Talent Oregon ) painstakingly built and created a type 1 Russian AK , I got to hold it and look it over , the coolest AK I’ve ever been around . He was the top go to builder in the West / Northwest and was famous for his Hungarian builds ( Guys would send him parts & Kits from all over the Country . Huge fires in Southern Oregon some years back took out his Shop and nearby home so sad ( but glad he built up my Type 56 “ Spiker “ AK on one of his Chinese receivers and I got to visit him at his shop & home before thatYep, I have one myself.

I've also picked-up a Hungarian and a Yugo AK pre-bans over the past year. Even a straight cut Mak-90.
416....But as it is a KFS import:What Arsenal is your type 56 “ Stamped “ receiver Spiker AK ?
Started my build with a real FA Bringback Milled receiver Type 56 “ Spiker “ Complete front end that the Owner of panicked and demilled receiver himself sometime in the 70s . I got it at a Redding Gunshow around 2012 from the Wife of the deceased owner real cheap . It had the nicest barrel I’ve ever seen on a Centerfire Chinese AK . I had to gather parts and had to face the fact I was gonna have to make the Sophie’s Choice on the Barrel because I could not for the life of me get a milled Chinese Compatable US Made receiver ( Mfgr said they had no plans to make them again for at least 2-4 years ) and other mfgrs were not either . So I had to have barrel threads machined off and get a US Made Stamped Receiver to mate it to . My Guns in Talent Oregon made the Thicker Chinese style receivers with Chinese characters on them so I took my parts ( Including the hardest to obtain Piece ( Chinese Front Trunnion ) I’ve ever sought . To Matt there and visited his Shop & home on way to Ashland for Shakespeare theater performance day trip from Shasta County . He built up a great type 56 for me and Brown delivered it to my home a week later .416....But as it is a KFS import:
"The earliest 386 guns were marked as "416" because Factory 386 was not yet on the list of recognized Factories. KFS had originally contracted with Factory 416 (located in Qingdao, Shandong Province) in 1985 but switched to Factory 386 because they felt the guns were superior quality. Factory 386 was also making the more advanced Type 56-2 which further swayed the decision."
So it could be (likely is) a Factory 386 due to the trunnion shape and Type 56-2 features.
It's still a toy.Hell yes The Chinese type 56 “ Spiker “ is the Flagship of anyone’s AK collection . It’s my dead ender go to weapon of choice
Whatever. My Rimfire Romanian AKs are toys , a Spiker AK is what killed the President of Egypt
my first new Car was a 1986 Suzuki Samurai
My Samurai was a great little Jeep ( Drove it from So Cal to Far Nor Cal and to Texas & back ( twice ) , loved it , it was a little underpowered but its gearbox & 4x was bulletproof . ( great gas milage too , and I loved roosting sand in the desertSuzuki? Weren't Suzukis just about the biggest pieces of trash since the Pacer and the Yugo? Every Suzuki PU I ever saw was covered in rust 2 years after being made.
I’m talking first year US import Jeep ( 1986 ) not some redesigned GEO like POS from the early 90sSuzuki? Weren't Suzukis just about the biggest pieces of trash since the Pacer and the Yugo? Every Suzuki PU I ever saw was covered in rust 2 years after being made.
