Fort Augustus Abbey school was 'haven for paedophiles'

The Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry finds a number of monks at Fort Augustus Abbey were serial sexual predators.

A Catholic boarding school in the Highlands was a "haven for paedophiles", a report from the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry has said.
It said that sexual abuse by monks at Fort Augustus Abbey, which closed in 1993, was a "desecration of their vows".
The report came after the inquiry heard evidence of physical, emotional and sexual abuse over many years.

The public schools in the UK are rife with this sort of behaviour. You would call them private schools. What makes this story so horrific is that when the church found out they just covered it up. How can the church offer any sort of moral guidance when behaving like this ? Surely it is time for reform ?

Parents entrust their children to the church and that trust is abused. There are so many of these scandals that I think religious orders should be banned from running schools until they can demonstrate that they can be trusted.
