Former President Jimmy Carter Dead

Carter pushed synfuel as a policy to replace petroleum. Guess what synfuel is made from? Peanuts. Carter was lining his pockets. Spare me the ******* adoration.

No shit...
Lol... You know I remember the name synfuel But I never knew what it was composed of.

Thanks for the update though and I still think carter was basically a good man. He was out of his league down in DC.

Look, we are not communists in the USA. I admit Democrats are working daily to make us to be communists. After reading what was said above, clearly you want us to be communists.

Clearly you're a moron.

read the thread I responded to an idiot claiming Reagan caused a loss in retention in the services.
I said many left the service because of Contra, not that there was a loss in retention. Be honest.

Of all posters on this forum, i am among the few if there are others, who has been into Communist countries. When you went to one of them, it was a hell of a good teacher.

Agreed. Not to mention, if you went across the border into Mexico and did NOT go to a resort, you learned something too!

Our young people KNOW NOTHING!

Country's..........no matter how friendly they are with us, want what WE HAVE!

If young people want to give that away, so be it! We can NOT save you, YOU have to save yourselves.

This caused me to read more on how it was our congress that supported the Contras rather than merely Reagan. And they kept supporting the Contras after the media lied about Reagan. Why? Because it was moral to support the Contras since it was the communists who supported the Sandinistas. Saudi Arabia also supported the Contras to the tune of a million dollars a month.

He might not have caused it (Arab oil embargo was the driver) but he certainly enhanced and sustained it.
A speech Carter gave in April 1977 argued the oil crisis was "the moral equivalent of war". In November 1979, Iranian revolutionaries seized the American Embassy, and Carter imposed an embargo on Iranian oil.

The statement that poster made is no different than what Progressive posters make repeatedly about Republicans and Trump. Republicans need to go to the school of smackdown. The other way does not work. However perhaps the media and Prog politicians will soften up somewhat.

That was his rerun of 1973. The first one sent the economy into the toilet. Carter just continued to clog it.

Carter was not president in 1973. He took office in 1977.

I was at the time a Real Estate Broker so I saw his damage daily. Before him, interest rates for homes were about 7 percent. He managed to cause them to rise to up to 19 percent. This pissed Americans off.
What happened in the oil embargo in 1973 and 1979?

The embargo ceased U.S. oil imports from participating OAPEC nations, and began a series of production cuts that altered the world price of oil. These cuts nearly quadrupled the price of oil from $2.90 a barrel before the embargo to $11.65 a barrel in January 1974.

I’m aware.
The point is that 1973 started the disaster and then Carter inherited that bad thing and proceeded to make it worse.
