Taking geopolitics into consideration, theoretically the United States can, instead of China, with its cheap labor (and now not so cheap) turn its attention to another state with a billion low-paid population - India. The PRC and the US are very closely linked economically, so the gap between the US and PRC (due to China's geopolitical ambitions) will be very painful. But nothing prevents the placement of American enterprises in India, the opening of the American market for Indian companies, etc. in exchange for the Indian government's complete political loyalty to the United States. And if we also take into account some hostility between India and China ... So we expect from the American government a turn in the economy from China to India.

Without question, having jobs shipped from China to India, in many cases, would be a better outcome. India is a democracy, China is communist. That's all there is to that one.

Globalization is going to have to understand that key manufacturing has to be made locally. Socks, little widgets you buy at the dollar store can be safely made on the cheap. You shouldn't gut your own Middle Class or jeopardize National Security by outsourcing health and high tech.

We clearly need to move all corporate activity that is willing to move out of China. Whether it goes to India or back to the US is secondary IMO. We need to stop feeding the beast that is China. If people can't see that after what they did to the world in 2020, then really there is no hope.

Don't fall in love too quickly on the rebound. Remember that India was the USSR's bitch during the Cold War.
