For all of you who think you know what a classroom is like

The job of teaching today is made much tougher with cell phones, youtube, social media. I think kids brains are being wired to those things. Even 12 year Olds are completely attached to their phones.

I was a school board member for 3 terms years ago. I remember having to approve a no photograph no media form so parents could opt out their children from being video taped or photographed. With all the social media platforms I can understand why parents might very well want this.
These exist not to protect the children but rather to protect the school from ambulance chasing slip and fall lawyers

What they say is that no one can photograph the children, but there are exceptions since the school can and should have security cameras

Correct?

But I can live with not showing the students faces

There is software that can do that which I’m sure you know

The fact is that its the teachers who are most afraid of being recorded

Uh. no. The parent is not receiving the services.
excuse me Admiral?

If that my child in any manner of 'services' provided for him/her, i am the customer by way of legal custody

doesn't matter if it's a doctor, teacher, shrink or hairdresser

they will all answer to ,and respect who has custody

thank you

In that regard, yes. But the customer is actually the child receiving the services, not the parent.

What do you hope to gain from the video?

Many things

If the teacher is pushing a political or sexual agenda

Or if he is so weak that the classroom is in chaos so that no learning can take place
So a gotcha kind of thing. A school district should help a teacher struggling with classroom management, not go after them for it.

Ha! Ha!

I gotcha

You assume they are all bad, but I never said that

Only the bad teachers deserve to be removed from the classroom

You realize that even our elementary students have smart watches now right? And if the teacher is a boob he/she can be recorded on those

If the teacher is pushing a political or sexual agenda
that would be the mental health contingent Mac

in a 'sanctuary state' the laws allow them to completely shut a parent out of any , for ex., gender dysphoria investigations.....

it is the numero uno drive behind school choice here

excalibur
It's all the IDEA and Special Ed laws. We hit a sweet spot in the late 90s I would say, but now the pendulum has swung much too far in the other direction.
Yes. I still remember when my nephew reported someone ran into a classroom screaming and took a dump on the floor.

People who love to criticize education should be showing the nation how to do it. Yet the armchair qbs will never go into the classroom and help.

The cartel makes it impossible.

sounds more like a penal colony Sue

That's most schools.

There are kids in nearly every class whose parents signed forms so that they will not be photographed/videotaped. Now so-called "conservatives" are saying parents shouldn't have that right. HHAHAHAH LOLZ HAHAHAH

Glad yo see you support school choice.

It's standard practice and well within parents' rights

But this "conservative" wants all kids on video at all times.
No.

I would welcome you into my classroom to observe at any time.
You of course would be afraid to take the offer.

You would see the following:

Safe Classroom Environment.
T-S and S-S interaction.
Quality questions being asked and subsequently being discussed and answered.
Discipline for the occasional turd of a student.

What you will never see in my classroom is:

Political Discussion
Sexual Talk

Some pencil-pushing “educator” in the front office far away from the classroom is magically going to know that the teacher is overwhelmed by hooligans that have taken over his classroom?

I dont think so

Hopefully you are not blowing smoke

But even so plenty of teachers are misbehaving

... plenty of teachers are misbehaving
And plenty of accountants, plenty of architects, plenty of ice cream salesmen, plenty of bus drivers, plenty of plumbers, etc.
