Before you libs whine about forcing old and disabled people to work, this is for able-bodied people who either don't have any dependents or whose children are in school all day. If the people receiving aid really want to improve their situation and pull themselves up, they would keep at it and accept any work requirement just to stay busy. Only those who are seeking permanent dependent status would reject the work requirement.

Self-sufficiency through work is a principle that should undergird the welfare system. Welfare programs should encourage able-bodied individuals toward self-sufficiency. If welfare assistance is needed it is there, but work is better and welfare policy should encourage it first. Time away from work doesn’t look good on a resume, and unnecessarily enrolling in welfare impedes an individual’s long-term wage growth.

Democrats can't take a chance at people actually getting off welfare. They would lose their vote.

That the OP is a liar comes as no surprise, and that the OP seeks to propagate this lie is consistent with the dishonesty found among most conservatives.

The plaintiffs in the case have no issue with the work requirements per se, the suit instead challenges the process used to reintroduce the work requirement:

“Specific allegations raised in the lawsuit include claims that the Human Services Department did not provide full details about the proposed changes or give adequate notice of a change of venue for the Aug. 29 hearing.”

Two nonprofits sue over renewed food stamp rules Albuquerque Journal News

Indeed, had the state provided full details concerning the changes and a timely notice with regard to the change in venue, there would likely be no lawsuit.

It's always a hoot when the FSA (Free Sh*t Association) writes pompous tomes declaring how they "deserve" the stuff that normal people work hard to provide for them.

Aren't they cute when they do that? :D

GOP supports medicare, medicaid, SS, as well, and well, in fact, support the reforms of ACA.

Fact. Far right simply is irrelevant from now on. It's cute the far right actually tries to talk with the adults.

Is that another example of government incompetence? At least it keeps a lot of lawyers employed.

They aren't mad because there were changes. They are mad because they don't want the work requirement. They especially hate the community service part of it. I have dealt with many of these people. Even when there was a work requirement, they would apply to jobs they knew they were qualified for or apply at companies not looking for help. They simply did what they needed to get signatures from businesses that "proved" they attempted to find work. The businesses that were hiring rarely saw the people come in. So, even with the work requirement, many find ways around it.

Who cares who is mad? Work Requirements are that right thing.

I am not in favour of guaranteed income or assistance.

I am in favour of a guaranteed job.

If you are able bodied, and come for assistance, the government should give you a job commensurate with your skills.

If you refuse it, you don't get anything.

There is plenty of work to be done.

That job should provide some job skills training for those that need it.

Cute in the sense that a baby coral snake is cute; when they come back to bite you, you wish you had just crushed their skulls.
