Seriously?

I mean, I'm not a huge fan of his later work (I think he peaked around the time he wrote "the Stand") but banning them seems kinda extreme. I don't see how they qualify as "woke" either.

I think the tropical sun of the Sunshine State has affected their brains.

Knowing American teenagers now that the books are banned they will get their hands on them and read and pass them among themselves. When I was a teen they tried book banning in orange county and put a list in the local paper and reported on the news on Sunday on Monday at school a lot of were walking around school with a copy of the banned books. We just pass each other in the school hall hold it up to each other and smile.

Leftists do love to brainwash the young. it's best to nip it in the bud.

Nah, it's not the heat, it's the stupidity.
I hang out, when in the state, in the coastal tourist condos on beaches, and the people I meet seem like good normal people. I don't think much of their political class.

This has a misleading thread title.
The books are not banned.
Democrat parents can still buy pornograhy for their children.
Normal parents just don't want porn available to children in the school libraries.

What kind of pervs would support this in school children's libraries? Pedos.

should the pornographic movies of these books be removed from children as well? i'm sure that "cujo" inspired a wave of beasiality and furriness among our brainwashed youth?

I don't see why a school library needs Stephen King books.

Really, in education, books need to be APPROPRIATE and I can't see how Stephen King books are, ESPECIALLY if they have sexual content.

Kids can get these books outside of school, fine.

Same with the Bible, doesn't need to be in a school, but if kids want to read it at home, fine.

I agree he does have a sick mind for story telling even though things like you pointed out do happen. But leave it up to the individual to decide what to and not to read ,watch or listen to. As for me I have never been a fan of his work. Carrie was a good story , The Trilogy had some good parts but over all I didn't care for it. Christine would have been a good story but it and the movie had some serious flaws.

Leaving it up to the individual is allowing it outside of school, but not having it in schools.

The problem with banning books is it can lead to the following;

Ten years later they were burning other 'banned objects' in the pits just a few yards N/W of krema 5 in Birkenau.

One must be careful when dealing with bans on objects as 'many' bans are politically motivated & if it's politically motivated it's then also psychologically addictive! Like one ban today could lead to a hundred or more bans tomorrow! Just amazing how human history just keeps repeating itself isn't it?!

Are they banning books? Not really. They're just deciding what can and cannot be in school libraries... that's very different. If you can't get a book in your school library, go get it somewhere else.

Really, this is advocating for ALL BOOKS to be in every school library

They're not. I was a diehard Stephen King fan for well over a decade until I discovered Dean Koontz. And although Koontz still rates ahead of King for me I still appreciate and enjoy especially, the Stephen King works that have been made into movies/TV series. "The Stand" is still a favorite for a lot of his fans and I particularly love the TV series "Haven".
