Not three minutes in and DeSantis has hit all the big talking points. Unfortunately, they are all false.
1. Biden's war against the energy sector and high gas prices.
It is just not true. Yes, Biden attempted to stop issuing new permits on public lands, but a judge blocked that EO and Biden issued more new permits in his first year than Trump. Domestic oil production is higher than Trump's last year in office and this year will set a new record. We are more energy independent today than at anytime during the Trump administration. Keystone was dead in the water before Biden took office and the reality is had it been completed gas prices would be even higher.
2. Printing money and inflation. What a crock of total shit. Three out of four of the "new dollars" in circulation over the last three years were "printed" during the Trump administration. Those supplemental unemployment checks, the Covid stimulus checks, those are on Trump, not Biden. Pro Trump sites will claim that Trump increased personal income in the midst of the Covid pandemic. He did that by all but dropping money from helicopters. The Biden administration has reduced the deficit, and will reduce it even more going forward.
3. The supply chain. Desantis wants to claim Biden has done nothing to alleviate the supply chain problems, ignoring the fact that he has issued at least half a dozen EO's addressing exactly that. How about baby formula, how come we don't hear anything about that from the right wing propaganda sites anymore?
Look, I realize he is speaking at "The Villages", which happens to have the highest rate of sexually transmitted diseases in the country. But Desantis is a jerk, plain and simple. He is a lot like Trump. He doesn't give two shits about you or anyone else other than himself. He will lie, mislead, manipulate, and distort the truth for the sole purpose of attaining power.
