Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis To Sign Bill Banning Social Media ‘Deplatforming’

When companies engage in biased censorship and discrimination, that’s Exactly what the government is for and rightful to step in.
Remember this when a business owner discriminates against a same-sex couple.

Such is the hypocrisy of the right – conservatives can’t advocate for government action against social media because they hate social media yet oppose government intervention against business owners who discriminate against gay Americans because conservatives hate gay Americans.

Conservatives can’t have it both ways.

Nope. No constitutional authority to do so.
The Big tech companies are government protected monopolies. As such, government has authority to regulate them.

No they are not. I rarely use Amazon except when they have the best price. I rarely use Google and I do not use a I-phone. If they were a monopoly, I would not be able to say that.
Google owns 90% of the search engine business. Facebook and Twitter control 90% of their markets. That was all the justifation needed to prosecute Standard Oil for restraint of trade.
LOL

90% of your percentages are made up.

Which government?
Federal government.
So federal law doesn't apply to Florida?
LOLOL

Fucking moron, the federal government did pass this law, Florida did. And Florida law doesn't apply to the federal government.
The state of Florida can stil regulate them since they are exempt from lawsuits.
Fucking moron, Florida law has nothing to do with federal law. :cuckoo:

The federal government is a separate jurisdiction.
If the federal government can regulate Facebook, then so can Florida, moron.
LOLOLOL

You're such a fucking moron, it's hard to believe you can even turn on your own computer.

Fucking moron, Facebook is based in California. The federal government has jurisdiction there. Florida has no jurisdiction over California.

This fails as a false comparison fallacy.

Unlike oil wells and oil fields which are finite, the internet is infinite; there’s ample opportunity for communication online.

‘The judge said the FTC complaint "says almost nothing concrete on the key question of how much power Facebook actually had... it is almost as if the agency expects the court to simply nod to the conventional wisdom that Facebook is a monopolist."

[…]

Boasberg wrote that "the market at issue here is unusual in a number of ways, including that the products therein are not sold for a price... the court is thus unable to understand exactly what the agency's '60 percent-plus' figure is even referring to, let alone able to infer the underlying facts that might substantiate it."’

That will get appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, and you know how they will decide it.
Like the way they decided 9-0 in a ruling that favored asylum seekers? Don't think you know how that court is going to rule.

Facebook does business in Florida, moron. Therefore Florida can regulate it, just as it regulates every other company that does business in Florida.

You really have a problem with this logic stuff, don't you?

You mean this one?

Justices unanimously rule against asylum seekers on question of credibility - SCOTUSblog

They can’t violate Facebook’s constitutional rights , which is what they’re trying to do.No they aren't. Facebook is treated like a public utility. That means they can be regulated like a public utility. Do you believe the power company can refuse service to members of the Proud Boys?

Uh, no, they don't. Their business is run in California. An argument could be made that states where their servers are could hold them accountable but they have no datacenters in Florida. Why do you think you don't have to pay state taxes on products you purchase online from other states?

Are you ever not a fucking moron? Using your logic, DeSantis could fine China because of TikTok. :cuckoo:

And your idiocy is like Florida trying to regulate California's electric companies.

If they provided electric power in Florida then Florida could regulate them.
