Fidel's Legacy or LOL at the Socialist Utopia

Cuba's national pastime has been keeping 50s vintage cars running.

The only guy who makes money off an old beater is the guy who sells it to the guy who will restore it. I used to restore vintage Spanish dirt bikes and discovered I was working for minimum wage when I did sell one. Most of my sales were back to the guy I bought my parts from.....what a racket. There's a point at which a car can't be restored without after-market parts and that destroys it's value to a purist. Pull a wheel bearing off an axle enough times and you can kiss that axle goodbye. The chassis and frame on a beater that's been used as a taxi will never roll straight again without being re-fabricated. Engine cylinders won't take more than one oversize piston before they wear out and banana peels in a transmission probably won't get you down to your local Napa dealer. I wouldn't touch a repatriated Cuban relic.

Then they cremated the piece of shit and buried his ashes at an undisclosed location. Fidel's net worth? $900M while his people starved. Adios Fidel...tirate a un poso.
Does using such language make you feel worth reading, I wonder

I don't feel the need to be dainty about a murderous communist pig and if you do perhaps you should scroll past my work. "tirate a un poso" translates loosely as "throw yourself in a hole" which is exactly what they did with the piece of shit.
Lots of families have buried the remains of their loved ones and must find your description tasteless.

The Russian-made jeep carrying the ashes of the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro broke down in the middle of his funeral procession on Saturday, forcing soldiers to push the vehicle until it could be repaired.

This is the perfect end to Fidel Castro and his revolution. Before he took over, Cuba was the most prosperous nation in the Caribbean. His effect on his nation is best illustrated by soldiers pushing his remains trough Havana.
You are mistaken; before the revolution the only money in Cuba was from Americans visiting to play at casinos and hire prostitutes which many mothers and their daughters had to do due to poverty. CIA money kept the fiendish dictator, Bautista, in place and the island was a police state with mafia links. The revolution and Castro's leadership brought back dignity to the people and now the island boasts food and shelter for all as well as free education and health care from some of the world's finest doctors ... and all this despite an invasion by the CIA and their paid Cuban traitors who got a whipping and decades of a US embargo. It is little wonder that ordinary Cubans loved Fidel.
Yeah, especially those ordinary Cubans lucky enough to have jobs working in Cuba's European-owned hotels. Fidel's wonderful government negotiates their salaries with the foreign companies, the foreign companies pay the salaries to the government in Euros, the government extracts their "management fees," and passes the pittance left over on to the workers...in the form of nearly worthless Cuban pesos. What's not to love!
Unlike the USA, Cuba has no unemployment or lack of medical care and free education which is endemic among millions of Americans.

Few families feel compelled to cremate a corpse and hide the ashes in an undisclosed location. Maybe Raul was afraid the CIA would dig him up to find out how many venereal diseases the prick had.

I agree with you Fidel Castro did something good for Cuba. Unfortunately he also did something bad.
But maybe that's inevitable. We're all humans and Fidel Castro was a human too ;)
I think you're wrong when you say "ordinary Cubans loved Fidel". Not all of them loved Fidel.
Of course I'm just saying my opinion. I don't think this is some kind of "truth" :bye1:
Brian Williams said the Cuban people would rather drive a donkey driven cart than ride in a car. Which fact is, any one would rather drive a car. That's what a dictator gets ya.
As someone who does not own a car, I can assure you that I would not accept one for free. Where I live, we have an outstanding public transport system.

Sure they do....another myth you morons buy hook, line, and sinker. So how about you put on your water wings and swim over to Cuba...maybe you'll get a taste of how THEY treat illegal immigrants....that is if they'd ever had one. Fidel's paradise is hell on earth for everybody but the Castros.

Wild horses could not drag me away from the European Union; I am not English.

So you ride diesel-exhaust-spewing buses that are destroying the ozone at 30 times the pollution rate of a modern automobile...yeah, you're a real Earth Warrior alright.

Are you human?

If Batista was so great, why did he get overthrown by his own people?
Just like Iran apologists. Somehow going from bad to worse is supposed to be improvement.
There is no way anyone could have been worse than American-backed Bautista. Getting rid of Bautista was a true liberation for the Cuban people. It did, however, upset the American government whose policy was to back right-wing Latin-American dictators and the business class exploiters of the Cuban people who resided on mainland Florida and played in mafia-controlled Havana.
You need to tell that to generations of Cuban refugees.
The Cubans living in Florida enjoy the materialism they yearned for.
But they had to leave their homes to attain that, thanks to Castro. Ask them about relatives left behind.

Not everyone craves materialism.

Then get rid of your internet device. That would kill a couple of birds.

Like the Americans, the Russians can access all our internet traffic. Thanks to Snowden, we all know the extent of spying and how there is no privacy.

Most everyone except for self absorbed Liberal twits that sponge off the labor of others, crave material things. Precious little flowers like you with the resources to post your idiocy word wide are so damned hypocritical. Your," I don't crave materialism" bullshit is laughable. You apparently think people who don't pay their own way are noble, so noble, in fact that they should be provided for by the ignoble working stiffs. The harder one works the more you want to penalize him.
How very noble of you!
Spending other people's money should not make you feel good about yourself.

Every man for himself with a disregard for fellow citizens is a contemptible dogma which Americans are indoctrinated in by the truly powerful in the USA ... the corporations and the ruling class.

You know nothing about me sir.
In the 7 years I have lived here in Alabama, I have provided a place to live to 8 different people while they got back on their feet. There is currently a couple living in my guest house. Today, a friend of mine, a recent liver transplant patient (no, not an alcoholic or addict) mentioned that she was short on rent due to expenses of a new med to prevent rejection. I gave her what she needed. I, unlike you, KNOW what charity is. I, sir, do not give away YOUR time and money. I give what I can from MY wallet, you hypocritical bastard.

Fucking assholes from Europe telling us how the US should conduct itself... WTF don't you people join a EU Message board and bitch and moan about something you have some stake in. What makes y'all think that a US citizen or our government gives a shit about your opinion?

Truly civilized countries do not have a health care program that relies on the whim of benefactors.

No sir. Civilized countries have civilized citizens who don't rely on government to pay their way through life. Socialist charity is not charity, asshole. It is simply a way to look noble while giving people just enough so they don't stray too far from the plantation. Socialism is no better than slavery. Democrats give away just enough of other people's money to provide food, shelter and medical care in return for their votes. Hell, we used to get cotton, now all we get is more people to feed, shelter and heal.
