yep....what we really, really, really need is universal background checks...because I am sure that this felon...who can't pass background checks at licensed gun dealers right now.....would be stopped by universal background checks ........
And of course if we mandated universal gun registration...well....because he is a felon...he would not be required to register all of these illegal guns as per the Haynes v. United States Supreme court decision.....only normal, law abiding citizens would have to register their guns.....you know, the people who don't use them for crimes........they would be required to violate their right against self incrimination...but convicted felons would be protected....
And licensing guns owners....since this guy was a felon...he can't own guns...and can't get a license to own guns.......soooooo....how exactly would that stop this guy from getting all of these illegal guns?
And how was this guy caught.....a snitch...not background checks, not universal background checks, not gun registration, not licensing gun owners......a snitch...like all the rest...
App-based tip leads La Habra police to cache of guns, drugs
Authorities arrived on the scene around 3:50 p.m. and came in contact with 41-year-old Ronald Amster outside of the home. Police discovered Amster, a convicted felon, was in possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia. Amster was arrested and while in custody, officers conducted a search of the home.
Authorities discovered multiple weapons, ammo and high-capacity magazines, as well as a silencer and body armor. Altogether, 21 long guns were recovered, in addition to three handguns. Amster is now facing multiple charges, including being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, drug-related and child endangerment/abuse charges.
