Look at the video. There was no one in front of the truck. They struck no one. If they had actually injured a cop, much less two, they wouldn't have been released.

The mexican had no legal right to leave the scene. And ICE had every right to shoot him dead

The federal government can REQUEST that states initiate traffic stops.

States don't have to comply. Michigan does, Texas doesn't.

In the event the state complies, the work is done BY THE STATE. Hence you have the involvement of the Michigan state police.

In the event the state doesn't comply, THE FEDS CAN DO THE WORK THEMSELVES.

Doesn't matter if it's the FBI, CBP, ICE, or anyone else. Any federal law enforcement official has the same power in this situation.

The federal government has to follow the same rules the states do. The courts have been quite clear on what those rules are.
