FBI releases 2021 crime data, but it lacks information from major police agencies

Yup. Anything coming from them is taken on a case by case basis. Without outside verification they are no longer remotely credible.

Leaving out the major crime centers of NY, LA and other big cities really makes the FBIs "crime data" pretty worthless and a joke.

That would be like publishing a report on severe storms in the USA and leaving out Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Florida.
