As Trump has our country retreat from world dominance and pissing off even our most loyal allies, some of his cult members cheer because in their limited perspective, anything that Trump does HAS to be good for America......after all, Trump did import some Vietnamese made red hats with the slogan MAGA.......and that is ample "proof" of "true patriotism."

In the late 4th century, the Roman Empire began disintegrating because (among a few other factors) the following was witnessed:

The rise of an Eastern Empire,
Military Overspending, and
Government corruption and political instability among the core Romans.

There are several parallels that could be drawn from Roman history to today's internal and geopolitical standings of the U.S.

Multiculturalism destroyed Rome. Roman citizenship was handed out like beer nuts. Once people with no loyalty to Rome became citizens the Empire fractured.

When the barbarians invaded, the Roman legions that had no loyalty to Rome left and went back to their homelands.

That's the parallel.

Roman legions tended top be loyal. It was all the private armys and mercinaries that Rome started to rely on that were not loyal. When you put profit above all loyalty goes out the window. That is the problem with todays conservative profit above all else does not work in the long run.

The only way Rome could afford it's empire was by taking from other empires, once they stopped conquering new places the inflation started, coined money was devalued. Italians refused to do legion service and instead looked for careers with the state or the clergy..Rome was not an industrialized nation therefore there was no industries to help support the empire.

But PLEASE do not forget what I placed as a leading factor for the fall....
The RISE of an Eastern Empire.........does not China's booming economy (set to beat the U.S. one in a couple of years) come to mind?

Pulling out of the TPP gave China an IMMENSE opportunity to become THE world leader.....Even when one travels throughout Europe, Chinese firms are booming enterprises.....and China has set its claws FIRMLY in Africa's abundant resources.

China is doing what the US has done since WWII invest heavily in the world for influence and position...

2 biggest factors for Rome's downfall

over expansion - Trump is actually consolidating & circling the wagons

extreme debauchery - that is coming from the left

Ah yes debauchery, yet the Church was firmly established as the state a hundred years before Rome fell..The western empire did fall, but not the eastern empire it lasted a thousand more years...

Don't go there.....for your own sake.

Republican Sex Scandals | List of GOP Affairs - Ranker

I am not talking about individual scandals - we can find examples and play this "gotcha game" all day

the reality is that democrats in general and hard core leftists specifically push and advocate for policies that fly in the face of traditional values

if you really want to argue this point...

well, let's just say that maybe it will be fun making you look foolish
