There's a fake Amazon email and texts going around, uses the Amazon font and colors. It claims your method of payment has been declined and you need to update your payment information. I haven't seen it myself but I assume there's a link provided by the scammers for you to "update" your payment info.
I would highly recommend you not do this unless you enjoy your credit card being maxed out or your bank account emptied.

I've had a couple show up in my in boxx.

the email addy usually gives them away.

In Amazon your accounts section has access to all actual Amazon emails like from sellers-always use your amazon account to access your email when even receiving something as simple as a seller rating request, because you never know, even a scam seller could be phishing for your log in pass by sending a fake email.

A twist on 'Your Amazon order has been shipped' e mail.
Just need to update your account crap.

Every online retailer down to your local street vendor... the transactions are instant.
Amazon would notify you of a declined payment instantly upon placing the order.
And Amazon, nor any major retailer, would send you an email asking for CC#s etc. - ever.
