The rich fund 90% of the government so why aren't they angry? The rest of you have no stake.
We should demand the rich do what is right and stop wasting money on wind and solar. Agree?

America should develop alternative energy sources, especially nuclear. What America shouldn't do is create kickback loops that benefit the democrap party much more than the rest of America. As with most democrap projects, they were created just to enrich the democraps and their benefactors. How many electric charging stations did Biden's billions create so far?

Solar is legitimate if installed and managed properly. It been used since the 1960s. It was used on ranches that I visited in the 1960s. If my memory is correct, it was Lightsey Ranch in their remote areas,

The new technology should pay its own way without forcing taxpayers to fund it

Right now it doesnt do that

In CA the touted benefit of solar panels on homes was selling surplus energy back to the grid at the retail rate.

When CA discovered that homeowners were paying almost nothing for their electricity (and they were making no taxes on it) they changed the law so they only got the wholesale rate which mostly zeroed-out any profit the homeowners saw.

What a crock of shit. Manhattan Institute, LMAO. Prager University, you people really take this shit serious? First of all, no telling how much funding the Manhattan Institute gets from the oil companies. I mean it is like the doctors in the 50's telling us smoking was good for us.

I mean obviously the video is directed toward the STUPID. Like when he talks about the "efficiency" of wind and solar. You mean wind is at 45% now and could get to 60%? Wow, that is awesome. Older coal plants run at less than 35% efficiency, even modern plants, operating at ultra-supercritical operating temperatures, might be able to achieve 45%, MIGHT be able to achieve. Natural Gas plants, the most efficient fossil fuel plants--simple cycle plants can achieve 35% efficiency, combined cycle plants may be able to reach 60%. Hell, even nuclear power struggles to get to 35% efficiency. The damn fool just made an argument FOR wind, if not solar as well. Of course, he didn't tell you any of the above. Flippin Manhattan Institute would lose their funding.

And then he talks about batteries, goes on a long rant about the materials needed, and then cries crocodile tears about the environment and union labor, GTFO. Like I said, geared toward the STUPID. Batteries are not the only way to store power, how about water. Pump water up when you have a power surplus, release it down when you need power. Want to know the efficiency of Hydroelectric power--NINETY ******* PERCENT.

Nothing but bullshit propaganda.

If you are very rich, it might make you so angry. You went ballistic.

Yes, I went ballistic. For good reason. PragerU, Manhattan Institute, they stink to high hell with fossil fuel money. Hell, PragerU was founded with financing from Dan and Faris Wilks, fracking billionaires. Not the first time I have seen such disingenuous bullshit from PragerU.

But, I guess what really set me over the edge was his statements about the efficiency of solar and wind. When he said wind was at 45% I was like HOLY SHIT. Nuclear is never going to get there. Coal can get there but only at ultra-high critical temperatures, which I actually do know a little something about. Combined cycle natural gas, it is there. A little higher. But it is not at 60%. And yes, hydro is at 90%.

Here is the thing, wind and solar are now more economical when it comes to producing energy. We should be leveraging that. There will always be a place for fossil fuels, but not how the system currently operates. Fossil fuels should not be used to provide baseline power, that should come from renewable energy, wind, solar, hydro, even geothermal.

That is what the fossil fuel industry is fighting tooth and nail. Eventually, they will be relocated to the role of providing power when demand surges, when the sun doesn't shine, when the wind doesn't blow. The water, it will always flow. Current fossil fuel plants are not built for that. They are not made to start and stop, they are made to always run. The starting and stopping, it exacerbates "creep". They have to retool and that costs money, better to spend that money propping up propaganda outfits like PragerU and the Manhattan Institute and maintain the status quo, ******* us all in the process.

In the right areas, solar can be beneficial (American south/southwest), however if you get into the northern tier states, not so much. The cost of the extra panels and batteries for those off grid folks makes it a poor choice. My neighbors attempted the solar route and still have limited use, but it was not up to the task of keeping their home up and running consistently so they have gone back on grid and use solar in the summer, but public power during the winter. It has proved to be ineffective economically.
