Facts about the working class poor that don't pay taxes!!

Every person in the US should pay federal income tax on all income! No excuses, no exceptions. There is no way in hell that 50% of us should have to carry the 50% non payers around on our backs. We need a flat tax on all income. Now that's equality.

What we actually need to do is repeal the 16th Amendment and implement a national sales tax. Whenever we tax incomes we punish income earning. We shouldn't be punishing people for earning income.... that's stupid. If you tax consumption instead, at least you are punishing consumption. As a result, people would be motivated to consume less. Less consumption means less demand and less demand with same supply means lower prices in a free market system.

Also, there wouldn't be anyone escaping taxation through loopholes. Everybody has to pay because everybody has to consume. Oh but what about the poooooooor? Well, we give the poor a prebate to cover the sales taxes they would be expected to pay on basic needs. So now, the "working poor" would get 100% of their pay check on payday AND they'd get a nice little monthly prebate check to cover their national sales taxes.

Liberal progressives don't like this idea because it takes away their nose rings they use to lead poor people to the polls with.

The problem with a consumption tax is the unreliability of revenue flow. It is hard to make a budget based on consumption.

States and municipalities do it all the time. The problem with a consumption tax are people who will incessantly find "problems" with a consumption tax. There is no more of a "reliability" problem with consumption than income. Just as we are certain people will earn incomes we are certain people will consume.

Taxing consumption has a lot of tremendous upsides. We capture an entire segment of the economy we're currently not getting any benefit from whatsoever. Think about all the criminals and drug dealers, illegals, tax cheats, corporatists and freeloaders who aren't contributing a single dime through our current system. Suddenly, they are all paying tax because they have to buy things. The only real "downside" is that it completely eliminates the left-wing "class warfare" arguments. They can no longer beat us over the head with... these people are being taxed to death while those people don't pay their fair share. We're ALL paying because we're ALL consuming things. Rich people are the biggest consumer spenders, so they would naturally pay more. Working class people can be frugal and control how much they spend... some people would benefit more by being self-sufficient... growing their own food, living off the land, etc. Savings is encouraged... income earning is not being punished.

Leave it to the Nazi followers of Trump to support this billionaire nightmare....for not paying taxes, while the rest of us have to.

Poor working class families, unlike Trump who don't pay FEDERAL TAXES, don't have a zillion dollars sitting around as a result of it. Those that don't pay federal taxes have that offset by the earned income credit., depending on how many kids they have and how much money they made that year.....and during that year, if they happen to get a few grand back on taxes paid the following:

Poor families are more likely to pay more for house expenditures, auto loans, housing, childcare, finance loans, etc, due to credit insufficiencies. Lets not also forget that they have families to support on wages that haven't been adjusted in decades. Its the working class poor who don't see pay raises, who see hours cut, who also pay state and local taxes and who also pay into a system that supports law enforcement and who receive bullets for those efforts.

Hey dumbass, the EITC allows those low income baby makers to get back more in a return than they may have put in over the year, if at all or a check even if they didn't pay into the system over the year. It's not an offset.

All the more reason to get an education, apply yourself and work to get ahead. Instead too many don't do that and then whine, moan and bawl about it and expect to be taken care of

That's a very simplistic way of viewing poor working class.

It's realistic. We have thirteen year old twin girls, they are already mapping out their educations, narrowing down college choices, career paths and life goals.
I hope it goes well for them, and nothing happens that changes that fact, but sometimes life does not always turn out the way it's planned....

Does that mean the taxpayers should offset the results when they don't go the way someone planned?

No, it hits it right on the head. Most people are where they are in life due to choices they made. The high school dropout doesn't make a low wage, if they work at all, because someone is out to get them. The low wage is the result of the choice he/she made to quit school. Why is that choice one for which the results should be offset by someone that didn't make that bad choice?
