You lost in the pandemy from 1918-1920 lots of people. This pandemy came in three big waves, as far as I heard. The pandemy "Spanish influenca" of those years started by the way not in Spain - it had started in Kansas, Haskell County. A new influenca-virus moved from pigs to human beings there in winter 1917/1918. Your soldiers transported it to Europe (and the rest of the world) during world war 1 and the first messages about this virus came from Spain. Up to 50 million people died worldwide.

The Corona virus seems to be more aggressive than an influenca virus. So I guess this justifies such numbers - this could justify even much higher numbers.

But I guess Trump always says only what the people like to hear - completely independent from any fact or any reality - as long as he can produce with his empty phrases an advantage for him personally. I guess he works on the story "How Trump fought and wan against Corona" - a self-praise in 5 nappies.
