Has anyone heard how those experimental hurricane and flood-proof buildings that were constructed in various coastal locations fared during Ian?
 
Buildings on the gulf coast should all be on stilts.
Make the ground floor the parking area.
Galveston Texas built a sea wall to protect their city.
