Exit Polls Should Teach Dems Some Important Lessons

As exit polling data emerges it's becoming increasingly clear the election came down to voter frustration with high prices of living essentials like food and housing. There were of course some ancillary issues at play but the aftermath of COVID was the driving force. And I understand the "throw the bums out" mentality inflation created. People were getting squeezed so they did what everyone always does, blame the guy in the WH........and Harris by association.

What I don't understand is why people turned to an ignorant, boorish, carnival barker thinking he's the solution.

Uh, well, maybe because they remembered that when Trump was president, inflation was minimal, gas was cheap, industrial jobs made a huge comeback, workers had their taxes cut substantially, there was peace in the Middle East, etc., etc.???

Of note, majorities oppose Don's positions on abortion, the environment, gun control, and mass deportation so the notion he has a mandate to impose his agenda is false.
Not really. Plus, large majorities agree with Trump about halting illegal immigration and sealing the border, about preventing biological males from competing in female sports, about protecting teens from transgender surgery, about banning biological males from using female restrooms and showers, about prohibiting late-term elective abortions, about not giving billions of dollars in sanctions relief to Iran, about the disgraceful pullout from Afghanistan, about standing by Israel more firmly, etc., etc., etc.

When Morning Joe discovered the price of butter was $7 he finally understood why Harris lost.
It took him four years, that is exactly how out of touch the liberal elites are.

It's called enforcing the immigration laws on the books, not mass deportation.

Trump wants Abortion left to the States.

the other agencies you claim, gun control, environment are just your warped opinion.

They should have spent less time telling people that they were ignorant and more time trying to understand their pain.
Unfortunately Saul didn't write much about empathy. Time for a new mentor.

And maybe not pushing men in women's sports, or advocating drugging and mutilating kids.

The exit polls from this presidential election contain some fascinating information, information that Democrats would be wise to process. I'm using the NBC News and Reuters exit polls. For example:

Trump won 81% of the vote among those who said their family's financial situation is worse now than it was four years ago. Only 24% of those polled said their family's financial situation has improved since 2020.

Trump won an astounding 55% of the male Hispanic vote, a whopping 51% increase over the share he won in 2020.

Trump also won a larger share of the female Hispanic vote than he did in 2020, going from 30% to 38%, an increase of 26%.

Trump's share of the overall Hispanic vote rose by a whopping 47% compared to 2020, going from 32% to 46%.

Trump won by large margins among Protest and Catholic voters, winning 72% of the Protestant vote and 61% of the Catholic vote.

Trump's share of the two youngest voting blocks, the 18-24 and 25-29 groups, rose substantially from 2020, going from 36% to 43%, an increase of 19%.

Trump received 13% of the African-American vote, the largest percentage won by any Republican presidential candidate since 1980.

Trump beat Harris 50% to 47% among households with a total income of under $50,000.

Trump beat Harris 50% to 46% among households with a total income of $50,000 to $100,000.

Trump handily won the military veteran vote by an impressive 31 percentage points, 65% to 34%.

Trump won the rural vote 64% to 34%.

Trump won the suburban vote 51% to 47%.

A surprising datum is that 5% of those who said they voted for Biden in 2020 voted for Trump this time. That equals at least 3 million votes.

Another surprising datum is that Trump won 56% of the votes of first-time voters.
I think over the next four years, if Trump and his team are able to deliver on or at least make progress on at least most of the MAGA vision, the Democrat Party will see a quiet exodus of people still capable of critical thinking and who still hold at least some traditional sense of morality, ethics, integrity, common sense.

What will be left are those still spreading the malicious lies/propaganda, the hate mongers, the dividers, the deep state operatives, and all others who have no other agenda than seeking absolute power no matter what means they find to use to obtain that.

You've acknowledged what we've been saying for months now. Democrats have been running around trumpeting how wonderful the economy is, how great things are going, while I and others have been saying that you can't make someone believe that when he had to take a second job just to maintain his family where they were 5 years ago. That also furthers the reality that the GOP is becoming the party of the working guy while the democrats are shifting into the party of the wealthy. Look at who has been trying to impose their view of life on the American people lately, ultra rich democrats. Who did Harris pay to endorse her? Wealthy democrats. Who was telling the electorate that they are <fill in favorite insult here> if they didn't vote for Harris? Wealthy democrats. And on it goes.

That's simple, they turned to the guy that was heading up the economy when things were better, and they didn't have to work that second job.

I saw this. It's nuts how out of touch these propagandists are with reality. It's insulting to salt of the earth Americans too. You go to the store, gas station, etc. and you see with your own eyes that the economy isn't doing well. And then some limp dicked Ivy League pencil pusher in a $10,000 dollar suit goes on TV and tells you that you're just imagining things being bad and that in fact, things are better than ever. It's bad gaslighting.
With huge layoffs of staff at CNN taking place as we speak...I wonder if the talking heads at that network and others aren't suddenly coming to the realization that things AREN'T doing well under progressive rule and that the populace isn't buying what they're selling anymore?

When you gas light people blatantly and get caught doing so...it shouldn't surprise you that nobody trusts what you're saying anymore!

Yes, the exit polls showed that not culture but economics ruled this election.
