Bernie understood the Dems were united in not allowing amendments to pass in order for the bill to garner support as proposed. It was a strategy they announced before the amendments were offered. What Bernie did was a dog and pony show, making sure he was on the record for promoting positive measures for Americans he believes in. Unlike the Repubs, who's only victory came in blocking an insulin cost reduction for non-Medicare users.

Still, I doubt it sinks in that his democratic socialism just isn't wanted, even by Democrats. These people keep on thinking that more and more people are behind them. If only those damned moderates would get out of his way, he could cram his socialism down everyone's throats.
