And some people dare call it an 'insurrection'.

The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.

Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.

"Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases," said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. "Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages."

FBI investigators did find that cells of protesters, including followers of the far-right Oath Keepers and Proud Boys groups, had aimed to break into the Capitol. But they found no evidence that the groups had serious plans about what to do if they made it inside, the sources said.

Well, not coordinated by anyone outside the FBI that is...

What is amusing is that Reuters calls Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers far-right groups.

True...but it has to be an insurrection to be an insurrection....the DOJ has not found enough evidence to even charge someone with it.

"Insurection" is not a charge. It is a motive for various acts against the government for which there are many

WASHINGTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials

Who are they and how would they know this??

Really? Then if not, what the fuck are they?

"The FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.
The FBI's assessment could prove relevant for a congressional investigation that also aims to determine how that day's events were organized and by whom.

Here’s the bottom line. You’re not crazy to want to know about the role of federal informants in Jan. 6, for three main reasons:
  1. This sort of infiltration has been routine in right-wing groups for decades, and it’s also routine for informants to goad other participants into more extreme acts.
  2. There is considerable evidence that informants played key roles in these groups, including as leaders in some of the more extreme ones.
  3. Loads of video and electronic evidence is being withheld from the public.

Yet not one of them has been charged for Insurrection as delineated under 18 U.S. Code 2383 Rebellion or Insurrection
