Socialistic atheism and Christianity are somewhat similar in that both understand that freedom of choice is the problem in the world today.

We eat too much, we drink too much, we hurt other people and we pollute the environment, etc., etc., etc.

To solve this problem, socialism seeks to snuff out free will via the state and they will never rest until their entire political system is world wide. They want to eradicate a free market so that people will be dictated to in terms of how much money they can make which correlates to limiting their free will and potential damage they can do.
