Zone1 Everything you buy is designed to break

You are not making sense. Why would you quote that particulary post of mine if you know what I said is true?

Because we'd already had to discussion about wired earbuds even on phones without the 3.5mm jack. I simply assumed you hadn't to to that part of the thread.

Now ya got folks like Scotty Kilmer on You Tube.

I still do most of my own work when warranty is done.

Shocks, brakes and rotors, axles, hubs, spark plugs, done a full rebuild of cooling system on my Jeep I used to have, even ripped apart half the dashboard to repair a motor that ran the duel climate control blend doors.
All thanks to You Tube videos.
Will do the same on my newer Tundra when warranty is gone.
I frequently drive my vehicles over the 250K mark and got 340K on my 96 Jeep.
I expect that out my Tundra.

I draw the line at full engine or transmission issues as I don't have the tools or knowledge for that big of a job.
They key is keeping up with fluid maintenance to avoid the bigger issues.

A lot of fluid maintenance I will bring it in like the differentials, transfer case and transmission because the dealer actually does that for a fairly reasonable price.
Oil changes are pretty easy for most vehicles unless designed by a stupid engineer that puts the filter in an impossible location.

Most little cars suck to work on though.
Too much crap crammed into too small a space, designed by morons who have no practical knowledge of how their design effects the real world.

The exception is FIAT. You can repair almost everything with only a screwdriver and a small, wooden mallet. I've had a 128 Sport Coupe, a RITMO, and an UNO.

I thought you just wind a key on those.

Are you mentally challenged?
An argument could be made... However the current trend toward consumerism has shut out manufacturers whose products are built to last. Especially legacy purchases which once lasted a lifetime. Facts are facts...

Some people claim it is not about 'morons', but a kind of a cunning plan to make sure people will go for a dealer even for a minor repairment.
