European food industry warns: ‘No energy means no food’

The European food industry is sounding the alarm. In a recent statement, companies in the European agri-food industry warn of plant closures and supply bottlenecks as a result of the energy crisis.

In the joint statement released on Thursday, FoodDrinkEurope, the EU’s farmers’ association COPA-COGECA and the EU’s primary food processors’ association warned that some companies could soon shut down production. The first to be affected are small and medium-sized businesses, especially those in energy-intensive sectors such as bakery, vegetable processing and dairy.

“As long as the uncertainty persists, there will be increasing pressure on companies to either lay off staff, curtail operations or – in the worst case – go out of business altogether,” warned Dirk Jacobs, General Director of FoodDrinkEurope, emphasizing: “No energy means no food

Let them eat the globalists.

The Climate Change Cult is going to needlessly cause people to freeze and starve to death.

The UK was having trouble with small businesses having to shut down due to the ridiculous energy prices. The Government has stepped in and will be reducing that they need to pay to a payable level. I am sure the EU or country by country in it will do the same. You do not expect them to leave people to starve do you? That is for the future if we do not get the climate disaster sorted. I think they also have an agreement to share energy if needed. Scholz has said Germany can get needed energy from alternative sources than Russia if need be.

The government does not reduce the cost. They cover up the cost.

That does not address the problem. In fact, it makes it far worse as it means energy consumption does not match it's rarity.

As I'd wrote already Europa will have lot of new hitlers who will run it in few months.
All current leading 'politicians' will be imprisoned ( in the best case for them )

They will make different arrangements in different years. In the UK our prices were about as bad as Germany's and that was using our own Gas and much of our electricity being renewables. True it is suspected that the UK Government are going to charge lower earners excessive tax in years to come to make up for it rather than the windfall tax people have been asking them to charge the fossil fuel people. The UK does not get its gas from Russia - I have heard maybe 5% but it is not reliant on Russia for its gas. The UK then should not be suffering much the same as Germany is. Hopefully the EU is working hard on its renewables so that they can be free of these exploiting companies and the war with Russia ends so that they can get cheaper gas from there while necessary. The UK does not expect this to go on and on.

Do you even realize what resources need to go into building a functional electrical grid out of renewables?

What about battery's alone for storage and electric vehicles ?
No ?how much resources will be needed to match or current energy use levels ?
copper mining ALONE needs to increase by 278%

Do you not notice the child slave labor that goes on for use in your green energy fantasy?

Don't care about that explotaion Do ya .....

Probably won't even acknowledge it exists cause you hate Lil black African kids
