Eugene Sledge wrote the best first person account of WWII that I have read. His book helped form the basis for Spielberg's "The Pacific", along with the memoir of Robert Leckie, which I personally did not enjoy reading.

I'm finding that I enjoy The Pacific more than Band of Brothers these days.

As an aside both SNAFU and Sledgehammer were both in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

SNAFU won an Oscar for his performance. Movie was kind of meh, but I learned a lot about Freddie.

I thought Mazzello played Zuckerberg, or someone in his orbit, back around 2010, but I might be wrong, never watched the movie. SNAFU is a huge star in Hollywood today, for sure. There never was much of a story about his real life, he was from the swamps of Louisiana and apparently just disappeared back into them

Henry Sledge is taking good care of his father's legacy.
