An anonymous person scribbled a racial slur on a locker at the Oregon Health & Science University. So, to investigate bigotry on its campus, the taxpayer-funded school hired Eric Holder at $2,295 per hour.

A press release from the university explains:

[W]e have determined that OHSU needs a nationally respected investigator with deep expertise in handling racial and gender issues in large, complex organizations. To that end, OHSU has retained former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder of Covington & Burling LLP to conduct a comprehensive, independent investigation of OHSU’s workplace environment related to sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and racism. Mr. Holder and Covington have conducted examinations of workplace culture and issues related to equity, diversity and inclusion for corporations including Uber, Starbucks and AirBnB. The Covington team will be co-led by Nancy Kestenbaum, a former federal prosecutor who has conducted investigations into reports of sexual misconduct, harassment and discrimination for a number of educational institutions and other organizations. Mr. Holder and the Covington team are also currently assessing race, equity, inclusion and diversity policies and practices at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

The engagement letter notes that Kestenbaum will bill the university at $1,443 per hour, the National Law Journal notes.

1. This is going to cost that public university some serious cash.

2. The university is in Portland. I'm surprised it hasn't been burned down by now.

3. Do they get any federal funding? Couldn't they have gone with a slightly cheaper option?

This makes OHSU a bunch of stupid fucks that are no doubt poor at educating their students. Who the hell would pay to go to a school like this?
Check out University of Arkansas...

Eric Holder is a superb investigative attorney - he's black, old, and hates white people.
And has the gold badge of presidential pardons...He did one thing I like, allowed weed to flourish legally by plebiscite and state legislative mandate.

Nice work if you can get it. I wonder what they thought he could find, that a $500.00/hour could not find. It is not like he brings federal assets to bear on the question. He's just a freaking lawyer now.

I hope the investigation was complete in 5-10 minutes, or someone drastically overpaid .

I bet if we did a letter campaign to Holder that it would get his attention, and make a difference.

Dear Mr. Holder;

The problem with Black people is . . .

If Universities can afford to pay Eric Holder $2300 per HOUR to tell us it's not nice to write slurs on a locker, they can afford to pay for student loan forgiveness NOT THE TAXPAYER!!!
