You don't see the comparison because of your bias, plain and simple. Babbit wasn't under arrest. Floyd was and repeatedly resisted.
The bottom line is both of them put themselves in a situation that resulted in their deaths. Nobody would know the name of George Floyd today had he not resisted arrest. Nobody would know the name Ashlee Babbit had she not tried to force her way into the Congressional chamber with a violent mob. They both put themselves in that situation. It's exactly the same thing.
I agree that they both put themselves in that situation. But I would argue that they were not equally dangerous.
Babbitt was trying to get through a barricaded part of the Capitol. If she gets through, then the rest of the mob follows and gets to our elected officials. What happens from there, in my opinion, would likely be far worse.
Floyd was being restrained by three officers and was not a threat.
I can see how Babbitt’s death is justified while Floyd’s is not.
